SUPPORTING LEARNING's Series Two workbooklets are useful for students working around curriculum level 2-3+ and offer thematic blends that can be stand-alone or as prior learning for NCEA L1 Supported Learning packages. The 21 titles in Series Two cover life skills, thinking skills, subject skills and daily literacy & numeracy to help prepare students towards a pathway for “Success for All”.
Each .pdf workbooklet is filled with relevant, practical and achievable tasks. The tasks can be used as suggestions, as a base for additional knowledge, or as a programme of learning. The tasks focus on active and practical learning opportunities, use your local area and resources, encourage social interaction and transfer skills between tasks.
Each booklet has a student Learning Checklist at the back and an assessment for learning sheet. The Learning Checklist within each booklet links into key skills, competencies and knowledge areas. It can be used to support IEP/ILP’s, as additional reporting to parents and the useful assessment for learning checklist is a personal reflection for each student. The SLR checklists are a useful way to judge progress or competency within a theme before moving onto the NCEA L1 Supported Learning assessment pathways.
