NZQA have released the latest updates for our Tikanga Concept packages and we are excited to offer them to you. Remember we offer schools a FREE version upgrade when they purchase a NCEA L1 or L2 package, but if you have already had your free upgrade, it is only $50 fee per package to update your versions until 2027 (or until the next version is released). What are SLR NCEA L1 tikanga concepts?
Tikanga are Māori values, processes and practices exercised by Māori in their daily lives. These reflect the concepts upon which they are based and provide guidelines for appropriate behaviour and conduct in Māori society. They also prescribe consequences for any breaches or when tikanga is not followed. They can be particular to a rohe, iwi, hapū, whānau, marae, or hapori. The material focuses on A Powhiri - Protocols & Roles (2 credits) and Your Whakapapa and Key Terms (2 credits)* and are for ALL students.
Like all SLR material, the prior learning workbooklets and NCEA L1 assessment material is easy-to-follow with practical and active work-related tasks, relevant discussions and transferable skills to create meaningful pathways for all students and offering individual NCEA L1 credits. *These two assessment packages also contribute to the NZ Certificate in Skills for Living (for supported learners).
